Having practised as an architect for over 25 years, Thomas has extensive experience, ranging from domestic refurbishment to high-profile museum and gallery projects.
He has recently delivered a refurbishment project for the front of house facilities at the A-listed Edinburgh Playhouse and is currently working on creatively reimagining a significant ecclesiastical building to include new visitor facilities.
Thomas contributes to the architecture profession as a professional practice examiner and speaks widely on equality and diversity issues in the industry.

Melanie Hay
Director
Melanie is an accredited conservation architect and believes that heritage should be accessible to everyone.
She has worked on listed building projects for over a decade, with experience ranging from fabric repair and condition surveys to transformational reuse projects and the authoring of conservation management reports. She is currently leading studies for the reimagining of the Britannia Panopticon Music Hall and St Giles’ Cathedral.
Melanie advocates for heritage at risk in her role as Trustee of Glasgow City Heritage Trust.
Nick Van Jonker
Director
Nick’s background includes the redevelopment of sensitive urban sites and the transformation of cultural buildings.
He has particular expertise in designing for the performing arts and is currently leading a major redevelopment project at the King’s Theatre in Glasgow, as well as working with an experimental archaeology charity to develop visitor and education facilities in rural Scotland.
He is committed to supporting future generations of architects and is currently teaching at the Mackintosh School of Architecture.
Chloe van Grieken

As the studio’s sustainability lead, Chloe believes in taking a pragmatic approach to tackling the climate emergency.
She is currently preparing an estate-wide Carbon Management Plan for the country’s largest theatre company and a low-carbon, regenerative design for a private domestic client.
Chloe is an active member of the Architects! Climate Action Network (ACAN) and is a member of the UK Architects Declare Steering Group.
